Step into people leadership with confidence by building the essentials skills needed to quickly start leading others.
Target Audience
Emerging leaders who may have had some supervisory or project leadership experience and are expected to be promoted within the next 6 months and those newly promoted in their management roles.
Note: This 1/2 day session is a shortened version of the 1-day Growing Emerging New Leaders program; for a more comprehensive exploration of leadership skills, participants are encouraged to consult the full one-day program.
This session focuses on the essentials to help new leaders understand what the transition to people leadership will look like in practice and how to step into it with intention. Through discussions and practical tools, participants will explore the realities of moving into a leadership role, clarify how they want to show up as leaders, and strengthen communication approaches that build trust and clarity from day one.
This program is designed to help participants: understand key challenges and opportunities in the transition, increase their confidence to lead, recognize and apply core leadership skills, and develop a deeper understanding of how to communicate to increase empathy for themselves and their teams through the transition.
We all learn differently. At the core, Boreala Management’s design is inclusive and considers a whole host of participant needs and preferences to ensure a psychologically safe and optimal learning environment. We incorporate activities for experiential learning, inquiry exercises for reflection, guidelines for conceptualization, and simple tools (handouts) for applying the content in the workplace.
